MingleMinds
MingleMinds Privacy Policy
MingleMinds LLC (“MingleMinds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the MingleMinds iPhone application, MingleMinds on Apple TV, our website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Service and to information processed by service providers on our behalf.
MingleMinds is intended only for adults age 18 and older.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account and Profile Information
When you create and use a MingleMinds account, we may collect information you provide, including:
- name and profile name;
- email address associated with your account;
- date of birth and age;
- gender and gender identity;
- sexual orientation;
- gender, sexual orientation, age, distance, and other preferences used for dating and Discovery;
- relationship goals;
- height;
- information about children and family preferences;
- job and professional information;
- education information;
- lifestyle information, including drinking, smoking, and workout preferences;
- written biography and profile responses;
- profile archetype and other profile choices;
- profile visibility preferences;
- profile photos, audio responses, and other media; and
- other information you choose to add to your profile.
Some of this information, including sexual orientation, certain gender-related information, and precise geolocation, may be considered sensitive personal information under applicable privacy laws or platform privacy classifications.
We use this information primarily to provide MingleMinds’ dating, Discovery, matching, profile, safety, and related functionality.
B. User-Generated Content
We collect content that you create or submit through MingleMinds, including:
- profile answers and reflections;
- text, audio, and image responses;
- Worst Date Ever stories and similar profile content;
- private messages exchanged with matches;
- information submitted through reporting, feedback, or support workflows;
- screenshots or diagnostic information you choose to provide;
- information you choose to share through GoAhead; and
- other content you submit through the Service.
User-generated content may be processed for product functionality, moderation, Trust & Safety, fraud prevention, support, and other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
C. Private Messages
MingleMinds collects and stores private messages exchanged between matched users, together with information necessary to operate messaging, such as:
- sender and recipient identifiers;
- timestamps;
- delivery or read status;
- conversation state; and
- related match information.
Your private messages are not publicly visible.
MingleMinds does not routinely have people reading private conversations in real time.
We may access or review private messages when reasonably necessary to:
- investigate a user Report;
- investigate suspected abuse or harassment;
- investigate a safety concern;
- investigate fraud or scams;
- enforce our Terms of Service or Trust & Safety Policy;
- diagnose a technical problem;
- protect the Service or another user; or
- comply with a legal obligation.
If push notifications are enabled, a notification may include information such as the sender’s profile name and a preview of a message.
D. Location Information
When you permit location access, MingleMinds may collect your device’s precise geographic location while you are using the Service.
We use location information to:
- determine whether you are within a supported MingleMinds service area;
- determine which profiles may be eligible for Discovery;
- calculate approximate distance between users;
- support distance-related dating preferences; and
- provide other location-dependent product functionality.
Your precise geographic coordinates are not displayed to other users.
Other members may see an approximate distance, such as “3 miles away.”
MingleMinds does not use location permission to continuously track your location while the app is not in use.
You can change location permissions through your device settings.
E. Photos, Audio, and Image Processing
MingleMinds stores profile photos, audio responses, and other supported media that you choose to upload.
We may automatically analyze profile images to:
- identify potentially prohibited or unsafe content;
- assist with moderation; and
- determine appropriate image presentation and crop positioning.
Image analysis used for crop positioning may identify the location of a face within an image for presentation purposes.
This type of image analysis is not intended to identify who a person is or authenticate that person’s identity.
Media may be stored using cloud-storage providers and delivered to authorized users or services through controlled access mechanisms.
F. GoAhead Contact Information
GoAhead allows you to voluntarily share selected contact information with a match.
If you choose to use GoAhead, you may provide information such as:
- your phone number; and
- your Instagram handle.
MingleMinds may associate this information with your account so the feature can operate and may create and store GoAhead content containing the information you have selected.
Providing GoAhead information does not automatically make it visible to all MingleMinds users.
It is shared with the match you affirmatively choose to send it to through the feature.
G. Reports, Blocking, and Trust & Safety Information
When you Report another member, MingleMinds collects information necessary to receive, investigate, and manage that Report.
This may include:
- the reporting user’s account identifier;
- the reported user’s account identifier;
- the Report category selected;
- the written explanation you are required to provide;
- date and time of submission;
- the surface from which the Report was submitted;
- relevant match identifiers;
- relevant profile identifiers;
- match history;
- relevant message history and timestamps;
- account activity;
- prior relevant safety Reports;
- moderation or system signals;
- information relating to off-platform conduct that you choose to provide; and
- other information reasonably necessary to understand or investigate the Report.
A successful Report also automatically and permanently Blocks the reported member from the reporting member’s MingleMinds experience.
The reporting member does not need to make a separate Block selection after submitting the Report.
MingleMinds may therefore create and retain information showing that a pair of accounts has been permanently blocked from one another.
Blocking someone without Reporting them does not, by itself, create a Trust & Safety allegation or finding of misconduct.
Submitting a Report does not automatically mean that the reported member violated MingleMinds policies.
H. Purchase and Commerce Information
At launch, MingleMinds may offer consumable in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store, including products such as:
- additional Openers;
- Swaps; and
- other consumable items that may be made available.
When you make an in-app purchase, Apple may provide MingleMinds with transaction information necessary to confirm and manage that purchase, which may include:
- the product purchased;
- transaction identifiers;
- original transaction identifiers where applicable;
- purchase status;
- entitlement information;
- refund or revocation status;
- restoration information where applicable; and
- remaining consumable balances where applicable.
Apple processes your payment-card information.
MingleMinds does not receive or store your complete payment-card information.
MingleMinds does not offer paid subscriptions at launch.
If MingleMinds introduces paid subscriptions in the future, we may receive and process additional information necessary to manage those subscriptions, such as subscription status, billing period, renewal state, entitlement status, restoration information, and refund or revocation status.
We may update this Privacy Policy when subscription functionality is introduced.
I. Device, Technical, and Diagnostic Information
We may automatically collect information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve MingleMinds, including:
- device type and model;
- operating-system version;
- application version;
- app or installation identifiers;
- push-notification tokens;
- crash information;
- timestamps;
- diagnostic information;
- network and technical information; and
- app configuration and feature-availability information.
J. Product Usage and Analytics Information
We collect information about how MingleMinds is used, including interactions such as:
- profile views;
- Discovery decisions;
- Try, Maybe, I’ll Pass, and similar activity;
- matches and match state;
- Waiting Room activity;
- Active Chat activity;
- saved-profile and Think Tank activity;
- Circle Back activity;
- Lounge Mode activity;
- feature selections and usage;
- Marketplace interactions;
- purchase and entitlement interactions;
- screen and navigation activity;
- session activity;
- feature performance; and
- other interactions with the Service.
Before sign-in, some product activity may be associated with a pseudonymous app or device-level identifier.
After authentication, product analytics may be associated with your MingleMinds account so that we can understand product behavior across sessions.
MingleMinds may use Google BigQuery for first-party product analytics.
We do not describe account-linked product analytics as anonymous.
K. Service-Area and Waitlist Information
If MingleMinds is not yet available where you are located, we may provide a way to request notification when the Service becomes available.
Depending on the experience offered, we may collect information such as:
- first name;
- email address;
- age; and
- ZIP code.
We use this information to manage service-area availability and related communications.
L. Support, Feedback, and Operational Communications
If you contact us, report a problem, provide feedback, or communicate with MingleMinds, we may collect:
- name;
- email address;
- user identifier;
- written feedback;
- screenshots;
- diagnostic information; and
- other information you voluntarily provide.
Certain support, feedback, bug-reporting, and Trust & Safety workflows may be processed through Slack or another business communication tool used by MingleMinds for internal operational purposes.
For example, a Trust & Safety Report notification may include structured information such as:
- an internal case identifier;
- Report reason;
- submission date and time;
- reporter and reported internal user identifiers;
- relevant match or profile identifiers;
- the reporter’s written explanation;
- whether conversation history is available;
- whether the automatic Block was applied; and
- review status.
MingleMinds does not intend to automatically place full message transcripts, full profile-photo collections, payment information, or unrelated personal information into Slack merely because a Report was submitted.
Slack is used as an internal notification and operational workflow tool, not as the sole evidence repository for Trust & Safety matters.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information:
- directly from you when you create a profile, communicate, make selections, use features, submit a Report, contact us, or make purchases;
- automatically from your device and use of the Service;
- from Apple and service providers when they provide authentication, purchase, infrastructure, analytics, notification, moderation, or other services on our behalf;
- from other MingleMinds users when their interactions with you create information necessary to operate matching, messaging, blocking, reporting, or other features; and
- from other reliable sources where reasonably necessary for fraud, safety, legal, or security purposes.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- create and manage MingleMinds accounts;
- authenticate users through Sign in with Apple;
- provide Discovery, matching, messaging, and profile functionality;
- apply dating and Discovery preferences;
- calculate approximate distance;
- operate Lounge Mode;
- operate GoAhead;
- provide Worst Date Ever and other profile features;
- generate suggested messages through The Opener;
- provide consumable purchases such as Openers and Swaps;
- moderate user-submitted content;
- receive, investigate, and manage Reports;
- automatically Block a reported member from the reporting member’s experience;
- preserve information relevant to Trust & Safety matters;
- detect and investigate abuse, spam, fraud, scams, or other potentially harmful behavior;
- provide customer support;
- deliver notifications;
- process and manage purchases and entitlements;
- measure feature usage, performance, and reliability;
- diagnose crashes and technical problems;
- prevent ban evasion;
- improve and develop MingleMinds;
- enforce our Terms of Service and Trust & Safety Policy;
- protect MingleMinds, our users, and others;
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. What Other Users Can See
Your MingleMinds profile is designed to be viewed by other eligible users.
Depending on your profile, preferences, and visibility settings, other users may see information such as:
- profile name;
- age;
- profile photos;
- approximate distance;
- relationship goals;
- biography and profile responses;
- reflections;
- Worst Date Ever content;
- audio responses;
- lifestyle information;
- education and professional information;
- gender or gender identity;
- sexual orientation;
- family-related profile information; and
- other profile content you choose to make visible.
Other users are not provided your:
- email address;
- exact geographic coordinates;
- full date of birth; or
- internal MingleMinds account identifiers.
Information you choose to share through GoAhead is handled differently.
GoAhead contact information is shared with the match you affirmatively choose to send it to.
5. The Opener and Third-Party AI
MingleMinds uses OpenAI to provide The Opener, an optional AI-assisted feature that generates suggested opening messages.
When you request an Opener, MingleMinds may provide OpenAI with limited MingleMinds information reasonably necessary to generate the requested suggestion.
MingleMinds seeks to limit information provided to the AI provider to information relevant to the requested generation.
MingleMinds does not provide your account password or Apple authentication credentials to OpenAI for purposes of generating an Opener.
You decide whether to:
- request an Opener;
- use the suggestion;
- edit it;
- send it; or
- discard it.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, inappropriate, incomplete, or unexpected.
You should review a suggestion before sending it.
MingleMinds does not use an Opener generated by OpenAI as the basis for determining whether you are eligible to use MingleMinds or whether your account should be removed.
6. Content Moderation and Automated Processing
MingleMinds uses automated tools and third-party services to help identify content that may violate our rules or create safety risks.
Depending on the type of content, MingleMinds may use services including:
- Google Gemini to assist with moderation of supported written or other user-submitted content; and
- Google Cloud Vision to assist with image-safety analysis and image presentation, including SafeSearch analysis and face-location detection for crop positioning.
Content processed for moderation may include:
- profile names;
- biographies;
- reflections;
- Worst Date Ever content;
- profile images;
- image-based responses;
- prompt responses; and
- other supported user-generated content.
Automated moderation may cause content to be:
- rejected;
- prevented from publication;
- flagged;
- removed; or
- referred for additional review.
Automated systems can make mistakes.
MingleMinds may also conduct human review when reasonably necessary to investigate:
- Reports;
- abuse;
- fraud;
- safety concerns;
- potential Terms of Service violations; or
- potential Trust & Safety Policy violations.
Private chat messages are not routinely subjected to continuous real-time human review, but may be reviewed in authorized investigation contexts.
7. Lounge Mode and Apple TV
MingleMinds includes Lounge Mode, an experience that allows an iPhone running MingleMinds to connect with MingleMinds on Apple TV.
When Lounge Mode is used, selected profile and Service information may be displayed on the connected television.
Depending on what is being viewed, this may include:
- profile name and age;
- profile photos;
- approximate distance;
- relationship information;
- profile responses and reflections;
- lifestyle information;
- educational or professional information;
- audio content; and
- other profile information supported by Lounge Mode.
Because a television may be visible to multiple people in a room, people physically present with the MingleMinds member using Lounge Mode may be able to see or hear information displayed on the television.
Those people are not necessarily MingleMinds members.
The member initiating Lounge Mode is responsible for deciding when and where to activate the experience and who is physically present while it is being used.
MingleMinds seeks to limit the information transmitted to the television experience to information reasonably necessary to provide Lounge Mode.
The TV profile experience is not intended to display information such as:
- your email address;
- complete date of birth;
- exact geographic coordinates; or
- internal persistent MingleMinds account identifiers.
Lounge Mode may temporarily cache information necessary to display the current television experience.
Temporary session information may be cleared when the Lounge Mode session ends, subject to technical and security requirements.
The iPhone remains the controller for Lounge Mode.
8. Analytics, Diagnostics, and Tracking
MingleMinds uses first-party product analytics to understand how people use the Service, evaluate feature performance, diagnose issues, improve reliability, and make product decisions.
Product analytics may be processed using Google BigQuery.
MingleMinds also uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes and application-stability problems.
MingleMinds does not sell your personal information to advertising networks or data brokers.
MingleMinds does not use your personal information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising.
Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency framework addresses tracking across companies’ apps and websites.
It does not function as an opt-out mechanism for MingleMinds’ own first-party product analytics.
9. Purchases
In-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store.
At launch, MingleMinds may offer consumable purchases such as:
- additional Openers; and
- Swaps.
Apple may provide MingleMinds with transaction and entitlement information necessary to determine whether a purchase is valid and what product or benefit should be available.
MingleMinds does not receive your complete payment-card number from Apple.
Apple’s own privacy practices apply to information Apple processes independently in connection with your Apple account and payment method.
MingleMinds does not offer paid subscriptions at launch.
If MingleMinds later introduces subscriptions through the Mingle Marketplace, we may collect and process subscription-related transaction and entitlement information as necessary to provide and manage those subscriptions.
We may update this Privacy Policy when that functionality becomes available.
10. How We Share Information
MingleMinds does not sell personal information.
We may disclose information in the following circumstances.
Other MingleMinds Users
We share profile information with eligible users as necessary to provide the dating Service.
Private messages are shared with the match to whom you send them.
GoAhead information is shared with the match you affirmatively choose to send it to.
Lounge Mode may display profile information to people physically present in the room where the connected Apple TV is being used.

We disclose information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate MingleMinds.
These providers may support:

- respond to lawful government requests;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of MingleMinds, our users, or others;
- investigate fraud, abuse, harassment, security incidents, or violations of our rules;
- enforce permanent removals;
- prevent ban evasion; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business Transactions
If MingleMinds is involved in a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

- matches;
- private messages;
- account activity;
- feature activity;
- safety matters;
- purchase activity; and
- important Service information.

13. Data Retention and Account Deletion
MingleMinds retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Service;
- maintain account functionality;
- protect users;
- investigate Reports;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- enforce permanent removals;
- prevent ban evasion;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- fulfill the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
You may initiate deletion of your MingleMinds account from within the app.
When account deletion is completed:
- your profile is removed from the normal MingleMinds member experience;
- your account is no longer available for Discovery or ordinary interaction;
- account-associated matches and active relationship state are removed according to the deletion process; and
- user-owned profile media and account information are deleted or de-identified from active systems according to applicable retention rules.
Trust & Safety and Report Evidence
Account deletion, blocking, match dissolution, profile changes, or removal of a conversation from the member-facing experience do not necessarily delete information associated with an existing Trust & Safety Report or investigation.
Where reasonably necessary, MingleMinds may preserve information such as:
- the Report itself;
- the Report category;
- the reporter’s written explanation;
- reporter and reported account identifiers;
- relevant profile information;
- relevant profile photographs;
- relevant messages and timestamps;
- match history;
- relevant account activity;
- moderation or system signals;
- evidence relating to fraud, abuse, harassment, or safety concerns; and
- records necessary to enforce a permanent removal.
This information may be retained where reasonably necessary for:
- Trust & Safety investigations;
- user protection;
- fraud prevention;
- abuse prevention;
- ban-evasion prevention;
- transaction and accounting requirements;
- legal obligations;
- dispute resolution;
- backup integrity;
- litigation or legal claims; or
- compliance with lawful legal process.
The fact that a Report results in an automatic permanent Block between two users does not require MingleMinds to delete evidence reasonably necessary to investigate that Report.
Where information no longer needs to remain associated with an identifiable individual, MingleMinds may delete or de-identify that information.
Aggregated or properly de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be linked to an individual may be retained for analytics, product development, security, and business reporting.
14. Security
MingleMinds uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
These measures may include:
- encryption of information in transit;
- access controls;
- controlled media access;
- authentication protections;
- secure cloud infrastructure; and
- system monitoring.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and MingleMinds cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please use appropriate judgment when choosing information to place on your profile, share in private messages, or provide through features such as GoAhead.
15. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights relating to personal information, including rights to:

Authentication
MingleMinds uses Sign in with Apple for user authentication at launch.
Apple may separately process information according to its privacy policies and account settings.
Deleting a MingleMinds account is separate from deleting your Apple account.
18. Children’s Privacy
MingleMinds is intended only for people age 18 or older.
We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use the Service.
MingleMinds requires a date of birth during account setup and prevents an account from proceeding when the provided date of birth indicates that the person is under 18.
MingleMinds does not represent this process as independent age verification.
MingleMinds currently relies on the age represented by the user’s provided date of birth rather than requiring government-issued identification or an independent age-verification provider for every account.
If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may permanently remove the account and handle associated information as required by applicable law and MingleMinds policies.
19. Email Communications
MingleMinds may send transactional emails necessary to operate or manage your account, including:
- important account communications;

- legal notices;
- privacy communications;
- purchase-related notices; and
- other Service communications.
MingleMinds may separately offer optional product news or marketing communications.
Where required, non-transactional communications will include a method to unsubscribe.
Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent MingleMinds from sending necessary transactional, legal, or safety communications.
20. International Use
MingleMinds is currently intended for users in the United States.
If MingleMinds becomes available in additional countries or regions, this Privacy Policy may be updated to address additional legal requirements and privacy rights.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
MingleMinds may update this Privacy Policy as:
- the Service evolves;
- products or features change;
- data practices change;
- service providers change; or
- legal requirements change.
When we make material changes, we may provide notice through:
- the Service;
- email;
- our website;
- an in-app notice; or
- another appropriate method.
Where applicable law requires consent to a material change, we will request it.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy identifies when the policy was most recently revised.
