MingleMinds Trust & Safety Policy

Last Updated: September 13, 2026

MingleMinds is designed to help adults create meaningful romantic connections in an environment built around intentionality, respect, and personal choice.

Dating involves interaction between people who may eventually choose to communicate or meet outside MingleMinds. No technology can eliminate every risk associated with meeting someone new. MingleMinds therefore combines product safeguards, user controls, reporting and blocking tools, moderation, and safety education while recognizing that each person must continue to exercise judgment when interacting with someone they meet through the Service.

This Trust & Safety Policy explains what MingleMinds does, what we expect from members, how blocking and reporting work, what information we may review when a report is submitted, how serious violations are handled, and the limits of MingleMinds’ role once people interact outside the Service.

1. Adults Only

MingleMinds is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old.

Anyone who is under 18 may not create or maintain a MingleMinds account. MingleMinds currently requires users to provide information indicating that they meet the minimum age requirement, but MingleMinds does not represent that it independently verifies every member’s age or identity through government-issued identification.

If MingleMinds determines that an account belongs to someone under 18, that account may be permanently removed.

2. Criminal Background Checks

MINGLEMINDS DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON EVERY MEMBER BEFORE ALLOWING MEMBERS TO COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER.

A MingleMinds profile should not be interpreted as confirmation that the person:

  • has no criminal history;
  • is using their legal name;
  • has provided completely accurate information;
  • has no history of violence, fraud, harassment, or other misconduct; or
  • is safe to meet in person.

Several states require dating services that do not screen every member to clearly disclose that fact. Texas, Illinois, New Jersey, and Utah currently have dating-specific background-screening disclosure requirements of various forms.

MingleMinds may use technical systems, internal review, user reports, and other information to identify suspicious or harmful activity. Those measures are not criminal background checks and should not be treated as a guarantee regarding another member’s identity, history, intentions, or conduct.

3. What Is Not Allowed on MingleMinds

Members may not use MingleMinds to engage in conduct or publish content involving:

  • threats of violence or physical harm;
  • harassment, stalking, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact;
  • sexual assault, sexual coercion, or sexual activity without consent;
  • unsolicited sexually explicit material;
  • exploitation or trafficking;
  • fraud, scams, financial solicitation, or attempts to obtain another person’s money or financial information;
  • impersonation or materially deceptive profiles;
  • hate-based abuse or targeted discriminatory harassment;
  • extortion, blackmail, or sextortion;
  • sharing another person’s private or intimate images without consent;
  • intentionally publishing digitally altered or AI-generated intimate images of another identifiable person without consent;
  • doxxing or malicious disclosure of private identifying information;
  • use of the Service by anyone under 18;
  • attempts to circumvent a permanent MingleMinds removal; or
  • other conduct that creates a serious threat to another person’s safety or materially violates MingleMinds’ Terms or policies.

Sexual activity without another person’s consent is prohibited. It may also violate criminal or civil law. Colorado specifically requires online dating safety policies to address misconduct threatening public or personal safety and to state that nonconsensual sexual conduct violates the platform’s safety policy and may create criminal or civil liability.

4. Blocking Another Member

Blocking is a user-control feature.

You do not need to prove that another member violated this policy in order to block them.

You may block someone because you no longer want to interact with them, do not feel comfortable continuing the connection, know them outside MingleMinds, or simply do not want that person to appear in your MingleMinds experience.

When you block another member:

  • the two accounts will no longer be able to communicate with each other through MingleMinds;
  • if a match exists, the match may be dissolved as part of the block;
  • the blocked member should no longer be surfaced to you through MingleMinds matchmaking experiences;
  • you should no longer be surfaced to the blocked member;
  • the blocked member will not be told that you specifically blocked them; and
  • blocking alone does not create a Trust & Safety violation against the blocked member.

Blocks are permanent. MingleMinds does not currently provide an unblock feature.

Blocking does not require submitting a report.

Blocking someone is not a finding that the person engaged in misconduct.

5. Reporting Another Member

Reporting is different from blocking.

A report asks MingleMinds to review conduct that a member believes may violate this Trust & Safety Policy, the MingleMinds Terms, or applicable law.

When submitting a report, the reporting member must:

  • select a reason for the report; and
  • provide written context explaining what happened and why they are reporting the person.

MingleMinds requires written context so that reports can be reviewed fairly and with enough information to understand the allegation. A report cannot be submitted through the in-product reporting flow without that written context.

Report reasons available through the Service may include:

  • harassment, abusive, or sexual behavior;
  • threats or safety concerns;
  • fake profiles or impersonation;
  • spam, scams, or solicitation;
  • conduct that occurred outside MingleMinds; or
  • other conduct the reporting member believes MingleMinds should review.

Reporting Automatically Blocks the Reported Member

When a report is successfully submitted, MingleMinds automatically and permanently blocks the reported member from the reporting member’s MingleMinds experience. The reporting member does not need to separately choose to block the person.

After a successful report:

  • the reported member is immediately removed from the reporting member’s MingleMinds experience;
  • the two accounts will no longer be eligible to communicate with or be surfaced to one another through MingleMinds;
  • the existing permanent Block behavior applies to the pair;
  • the reported member will not be told that the reporting member specifically reported or blocked them; and
  • MingleMinds confirms to the reporting member that the report was received and is being looked into.

The automatic Block protects the reporting member from further interaction with that person. It does not mean MingleMinds has determined that the reported member violated a policy.

A member may also block another person without filing a report.

Every successful Report results in a permanent Block. Not every Block results in a Report.

6. What MingleMinds Reviews When You Report Someone

When a report is submitted, MingleMinds may review information reasonably necessary to understand what occurred.

That information may include:

  • the reporting account;
  • the reported account;
  • the reported member’s profile information;
  • profile photographs and profile content;
  • account identifiers;
  • the reason selected for the report;
  • the written explanation supplied by the reporting member;
  • the status and history of the match;
  • messages exchanged between the reporting and reported members;
  • message timestamps;
  • relevant account activity;
  • previous relevant safety reports;
  • moderation or system signals associated with the account; and
  • other information reasonably necessary to investigate the report.

Authorized MingleMinds reviewers may therefore access private MingleMinds conversations when necessary to investigate a safety report.

MingleMinds’ Privacy Policy contemplates using information to moderate user-submitted content, detect suspicious or harmful behavior, protect users, and maintain platform integrity.

Reports are routed through MingleMinds’ internal Trust & Safety process. Access to report information should be limited to people who require it for safety, support, fraud prevention, legal, or related operational purposes.

7. Preservation of Report Information

Submitting a report automatically blocks the reporting and reported members from one another, but removing that relationship from the consumer experience does not necessarily delete information associated with the report.

MingleMinds may preserve relevant profile information, conversation history, report information, and other evidence associated with a case even if:

  • the users are automatically blocked from one another;
  • an existing match is dissolved;
  • the reported profile changes;
  • the reported member attempts to delete their account; or
  • the conversation is no longer visible to the users.

This preservation exists so that removing the relationship from the user experience does not destroy information needed to review the report, prevent abuse, enforce a permanent removal, comply with law, or defend the rights and safety of MingleMinds or its members.

Retention and deletion of this information are also governed by the MingleMinds Privacy Policy and applicable law.

8. Reports Do Not Automatically Mean Someone Did Something Wrong

A report is an allegation, not a determination of misconduct.

MingleMinds will consider the information reasonably available before deciding whether platform-level enforcement is appropriate.

The fact that a person was reported, or the number of reports associated with an account, does not by itself establish wrongdoing.

MingleMinds requires reporting members to provide written context because the circumstances surrounding a report matter.

Reports should be submitted in good faith.

Members must not knowingly submit false reports or use reporting tools for malicious, retaliatory, discriminatory, biased, or otherwise illegitimate purposes. Colorado law expressly requires dating-service reporting guidelines to warn users against false, malicious, biased, or otherwise illegitimate reports.

An inability to substantiate a report does not automatically mean the reporting member acted improperly.

Likewise, merely being reported does not establish wrongdoing.

9. MingleMinds Enforcement

MingleMinds does not use temporary account restrictions or temporary safety suspensions as its standard Trust & Safety enforcement outcome.

After reviewing the available information, MingleMinds may determine that:

No Platform Enforcement Is Warranted

The information reasonably available does not justify removing the account.

Permanent Removal Is Warranted

MingleMinds concludes that the conduct is sufficiently serious to justify removing the person from the Service.

If MingleMinds permanently removes someone for a serious Trust & Safety violation, the removal is intended to be permanent.

A person permanently removed from MingleMinds may not create, operate, or access another MingleMinds account.

Attempts to evade a permanent removal through another email address, Apple account, Google account, device, profile, or identity may result in immediate removal of replacement accounts.

MingleMinds may act immediately once the available information establishes that permanent removal is warranted. A temporary suspension is not required before permanent removal.

10. Review of a Permanent Removal

MingleMinds does not provide a general appeal process for safety removals.

A permanently removed user may contact MingleMinds if they believe the removal resulted from:

  • mistaken identity;
  • an account compromise;
  • a material factual error; or
  • another demonstrable error concerning which person was responsible for the conduct.

MingleMinds may review that information and determine whether its original decision was based on an error.

This limited error-review process does not create a right to reinstatement.

Where MingleMinds confirms that the underlying conduct warranted permanent removal, that removal remains permanent.

This section also provides the disclosure Colorado requires regarding whether users barred following safety reports have an opportunity to challenge the action.

11. Conduct That Happens Outside MingleMinds

MingleMinds helps people meet. It does not supervise their relationships.

Members may choose to:

  • exchange telephone numbers;
  • communicate through text messaging or other apps;
  • exchange social-media information;
  • speak by telephone or video;
  • meet in person;
  • begin a relationship; or
  • otherwise interact outside MingleMinds.

MingleMinds does not monitor or control those interactions.

A user may still report an incident that occurred after meeting or communicating with someone through MingleMinds.

When an incident occurred entirely outside the Service, MingleMinds may review:

  • relevant MingleMinds conversation history;
  • the reported member’s profile;
  • relevant account behavior;
  • information supplied by the reporting member;
  • information supplied by law enforcement or another reliable source where appropriate; and
  • other reliable information reasonably available to MingleMinds.

An unverified allegation concerning conduct that occurred entirely outside MingleMinds will not, standing alone, result in permanent removal from the Service.

If there is no evidence within MingleMinds and no other reliable information reasonably available to substantiate the allegation, MingleMinds may determine that platform enforcement is not warranted.

Submitting the report will nevertheless automatically and permanently block the reported member from the reporting member’s MingleMinds experience. That pair-level Block remains in place regardless of whether MingleMinds ultimately takes account-level enforcement action against the reported member.

This distinction is intentional.

MingleMinds can make decisions about activity that occurs through its Service and information that can reasonably be evaluated. MingleMinds cannot adjudicate every disagreement, allegation, date, relationship, or event that occurs privately between adults after they leave the Service.

Nothing in this policy limits any legal obligation MingleMinds may have under applicable law or prevents MingleMinds from responding to lawful requests from law enforcement.

12. If Something Serious Happens Offline

If you believe another person has committed a crime against you, contacting MingleMinds is not a substitute for contacting emergency services or law enforcement.

If you are in immediate danger in the United States, call 911.

For sexual assault support, the RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline provides confidential 24/7 support at 800-656-HOPE (4673) and by text by sending HOPE to 64673.

For domestic or intimate-partner violence, the National Domestic Violence Hotline can be reached at 800-799-SAFE (7233) or by texting START to 88788.

Reporting something to MingleMinds does not automatically create a police report or contact law enforcement on your behalf.

13. Fraud and Financial Safety

Never send money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, financial-account credentials, banking information, passwords, or other sensitive financial information to someone because you met them through MingleMinds.

Be especially cautious if someone:

  • asks for money;
  • claims to have an emergency requiring financial assistance;
  • asks you to receive or transfer money;
  • promotes an investment or cryptocurrency opportunity;
  • pressures you to move communication off MingleMinds immediately;
  • refuses or repeatedly avoids meeting;
  • requests financial credentials; or
  • attempts to create urgency around a payment.

The FTC advises people not to send money or gifts to an online romantic interest they have not met and recommends reporting suspected romance scams both to the dating service and to the FTC. The FBI likewise directs people to its Internet Crime Complaint Center for romance-scam reporting.

If MingleMinds determines that an account presents a serious fraud risk, the account may be permanently removed.

14. Fraud-Ban Notifications

Certain jurisdictions require online dating services to notify people who previously communicated with an account that is later banned for fraud.

Where applicable, MingleMinds will provide legally required fraud-ban notifications.

For example, New York law requires an online dating service to notify certain New York members who previously received and responded to an on-service message from a member subsequently subjected to a fraud ban. The notice must warn of possible false identity or fraud risk and provide fraud-safety information.

Utah similarly requires fraud-ban notifications to certain members who communicated with an account later removed for fraud.

A notification that another member was removed for fraud does not mean MingleMinds can recover money, reverse transactions, or control communications that already moved to another service.

15. Notification to Other Members Following Safety Reports

MingleMinds generally does not tell other members that a particular person has been reported.

MingleMinds may notify people who previously interacted with a permanently removed account when:

  • notification is required by applicable law;
  • the removal involved fraud for which a fraud-ban notification is required;
  • MingleMinds determines that a specific safety notification is reasonably necessary; or
  • disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

MingleMinds will not ordinarily identify the member who submitted a report.

16. Blocking and Reporting Are Confidential

The person you report or block will not ordinarily be told that you were the person who reported or blocked them.

When a report is submitted, the automatic Block between the two accounts is also private.

MingleMinds may tell a removed member that their account violated MingleMinds policies, but does not need to disclose the reporter’s identity, private statements, or other information that could unnecessarily expose the reporting member.

MingleMinds may disclose information where required by law, valid legal process, or legitimate safety needs.

17. Nonconsensual Intimate Images

MingleMinds prohibits publishing or distributing intimate visual material of an identifiable person without that person’s consent, including qualifying AI-generated or digitally altered intimate imagery.

Federal law now requires covered platforms to maintain a process for requesting removal of qualifying nonconsensual intimate visual depictions. After receiving a valid request, a covered platform must remove qualifying material as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours and make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies.

A person requesting removal should provide MingleMinds with:

  • information sufficient to identify and locate the content;
  • a brief statement explaining their good-faith belief that the intimate depiction was published without consent;
  • contact information sufficient for MingleMinds to communicate regarding the request; and
  • the signature or electronic signature required by applicable law.

Requests involving nonconsensual intimate imagery may be submitted through the applicable in-product reporting mechanism or to contact@mingleminds.app with the subject line NCII Removal Request.

18. Safer Online Dating Practices

No profile, matching system, safety feature, verification method, or moderation process eliminates the need for personal judgment.

When meeting someone through MingleMinds:

  • take time getting to know them;
  • be cautious about sharing your home address, workplace, financial information, passwords, Social Security number, or other highly sensitive information;
  • never send someone money simply because you met them through the Service;
  • tell someone you trust where you are going before meeting a new person;
  • consider meeting for the first time in a populated public place;
  • maintain control over your own transportation where practical;
  • be cautious if someone pressures you to reveal identifying or financial information;
  • stop communicating if someone becomes threatening, coercive, fraudulent, or persistently violates your boundaries;
  • block the person if you no longer want them interacting with you through MingleMinds; and
  • report serious misconduct to MingleMinds when appropriate.

Submitting a report automatically blocks that person from your MingleMinds experience.

Texas, Illinois, New Jersey, and Utah are among the states that specifically require dating services to provide users with online-dating safety awareness information.

19. State-Specific Information

Colorado

MingleMinds prohibits misconduct that threatens public or personal safety.

MingleMinds does not conduct criminal background screening of every member.

MingleMinds does not currently conduct government-ID verification of every member. Members are required to meet the Service’s minimum age requirements, but account registration should not be interpreted as independent identity verification.

MingleMinds does not use temporary safety suspensions or feature restrictions as its standard enforcement model. A substantiated serious violation warranting platform enforcement may result in permanent removal.

MingleMinds does not provide a general appeal from permanent safety removal, although it may consider a limited request asserting mistaken identity, account compromise, or material factual error.

Members may report prohibited conduct through MingleMinds’ reporting tools and must not submit knowingly false, malicious, discriminatory, biased, or otherwise illegitimate reports.

MingleMinds requires reporting members to provide written context explaining what occurred. A successful report automatically and permanently blocks the reported member from the reporting member’s MingleMinds experience.

MingleMinds may notify other affected members following a permanent removal where required by law or where an appropriate safety warning is warranted.

Colorado’s Online Dating Services Safety Act requires covered dating services to maintain a safety policy containing these subjects, make the policy conspicuously available on the website and in mobile-app settings, submit its URL to the Colorado Attorney General, and submit annual safety reporting.

Utah

MINGLEMINDS DOES NOT CONDUCT A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENING ON EACH MEMBER.

Utah members may block behavior they do not want to encounter again or report behavior that is suspicious, offensive, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or otherwise presents a safety concern.

Submitting a report automatically and permanently blocks the reported member from the reporting member’s MingleMinds experience.

Utah members may report sexual violence, intimate-partner violence, financial crime, or other misconduct to MingleMinds through the in-product reporting mechanism.

Where required under Utah law, MingleMinds will issue fraud-ban notifications to affected Utah members following qualifying fraud removals. Utah requires online dating services to provide safety-awareness disclosures, reporting information, and a clear method of contacting the service about misconduct.

Texas

MINGLEMINDS DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON EVERY MEMBER BEFORE PERMITTING TEXAS MEMBERS TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER MEMBERS.

Texas law requires dating services that do not conduct the defined criminal-background checks to clearly and conspicuously disclose that fact and to provide online-dating safety-awareness information.

Illinois

MINGLEMINDS DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON EVERY MEMBER.

Illinois’ Internet Dating Safety Act requires services that do not conduct criminal-background screening to clearly and conspicuously disclose that fact to Illinois members and provide safety-awareness information.

New Jersey

MINGLEMINDS DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON EVERY MEMBER.

New Jersey’s Internet Dating Safety Act requires dating services to provide safety-awareness notifications and disclose whether criminal-background screening is performed.

New York

MingleMinds may permanently remove accounts that it determines present a serious risk of fraud.

Where New York’s fraud-ban notification requirements apply, MingleMinds will notify qualifying New York members who previously communicated with the banned account and provide appropriate fraud-safety information.

California

MingleMinds will continue to comply with applicable California consumer-protection, privacy, safety, and other laws.

As of September 13, 2026, California has considered additional dating-specific safety legislation, including SB 957, but the proposal should not be represented as existing law unless and until enacted. The bill was introduced in 2026 to create online-dating safety-policy and reporting requirements.

20. Your Safety Is a Shared Responsibility

MingleMinds can design systems intended to reduce abuse, allow people to disengage, preserve relevant safety information, review reports, remove serious offenders, and make reporting easier.

MingleMinds cannot guarantee another person’s identity, intentions, statements, behavior, or safety.

Members remain responsible for exercising judgment about:

  • what information they share;
  • when they move a conversation outside MingleMinds;
  • whether they meet another person;
  • where they meet;
  • whether they continue communicating; and
  • whether they contact law enforcement, emergency services, financial institutions, or other appropriate authorities following an incident.

Safety tools support personal judgment. They do not replace it.

21. Changes to This Policy

MingleMinds may update this Trust & Safety Policy as its products, safety systems, laws, and regulatory obligations evolve.

Material changes may be communicated through the Service, website, email, or another appropriate method.

22. Contact MingleMinds

For Trust & Safety concerns that cannot be addressed through the in-product reporting tools:

contact@mingleminds.app

For an immediate threat or emergency, contact local emergency services rather than waiting for a response from MingleMinds.
